FROM PHOENIX ARIZONA
Take I-10 West out of Phoenix to State Highway
85 South. Follow 85 through Gila Bend, At the end of Gila Bend
you will see a Mc Donald's, right before the Mc Donald's turn on
to the continuation of Hwy.85 South (Your Only 90 more minutes
until the Mexican border). Go through Ajo and Why. By the
way, Why is a good place to top off the fuel tank before
crossing into Mexico. At Why turn left onto State Highway
85 South. Follow 85 South to Lukeville Arizona at the Mexican
Border.

Once across the border you will continue south into Sonoita.
About 2 miles from the border you will come to a three way
intersection. Stay to the left (towards Caborca). Do not take
the direction to San Luis. About 1 block south of there the road
will split into a “Y”. “Pharmacia San Luis” will be on your
right just before the “Y”. Stay to the right and you will be on
the road to Rocky Point. You will pass “Vasquez’s” on your l
that is easy to miss if you don’t know it is there. Continue
along the same road all the way to Rocky Point. By the way in
front of “Vasquez’s” is a red and white Taco Stand that serves
the best Tacos in all of Sonita.
Sonoita to Puerto Peñasco:
The highway from Sonoita to Puerto Peñasco is approximately 50
miles of open range. You will know you are close to Rocky point
when you start seeing sand dunes.

FROM TUCSON ARIZONA
Take Valencia Road which becomes State
Highway 86 - head West. You can also use Ajo Way or I-19 (Ajo
Exit) - both heading West. Then exit onto Ajo highway (also
known as Hwy.86). Once on Highway 86 continue 2-1/2 hours
until you come to the town of Why By the way,
Why is a good place to top off the fuel tank before

continue south into Sonoita. The speed limit here is fairly slow
so be careful. Driving in Mexico is not a problem as long as you
drive defensively. About 2 miles from the border you will come
